Q-tip

1. Stamp image on white cardstock or vellum and emboss in black.

If you are stamping on vellum, you may want to run it through a Xyron and use the adhesive backing.

This will make it more durable and it will lay flat when you attach it to the front of your card.

2. Check the tips & tricks section of this web site for information about using radiant pearl paints.

3. Starting with the lighter colors first, apply the paint to the image.

When changing colors, do not wash the brush.

Wipe the color from the brush using the paper towel.

If you have too much paint in an area, use a Q-tip to remove the excess paint.

4. Use blues and browns to shade images.

Remember that greenery or plants are not a uniform green color.

Use two to three shades of green for plants.

5. Remember that hair is not a solid color.

You should use at least two shades of color for hair.

6. When you have finished painting your image,

you may apply clear embossing powder over the image and heat to seal it.

7. The layering papers should be selected to enhance or

compliment the colors of radiant pearls used in the images.

The texture of the layering papers and the way in which

the image is finished will give the impression of formal or informal.

For example, the Pansy image has been layered on a linen weave paper

and has been cut on a stright edge with a paper trimmer which gives it a formal appearance.

The image of the girl is layered on a rust colored natural fiber paper

and the edges have been torn which gives it a bit of an informal appearance.

The images used on the example cards are:
