Welcome to Jan's Craft Kitchen

Thin Paste

Materials needed:

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup non-self-rising wheat flour

1/2 tsp. powdered alum

1-3/4 cups water

1/4 tsp. oil of cinnamon

Instructions:

1) In a medium-sized pan, mix sugar, flour and alum.

2) Slowly add 1 cup water while stirring vigorously to break up all lumps.

3) Boil until the mixture is clear and smooth while stirring constantly.

4) Add the remaining water and the oil of cinnamon and stir until thoroughly mixed.

Thin paste can be spread with a brush or tongue depressor or craft stick.

It is a good adhesive for scrapbooks, collages and Strip Papier-mache.

It can be stored in a jar for several months without refrigeration.
